2019 Topps Opening Day Baseball Variations Guide
Even the youngest collectors (and young at heart) get a shot at rare short prints thanks to the 2019 Topps Opening Day Baseball variation cards. Mixing in different images for top MLB players, these cards give collectors something else to chase in the low-end set not known for big hits.
At this point, variations are the norm in many of the Topps releases. While they may not carry the clout they once did, the demand still remains fairly strong, especially for superstar players and top rookies. And the Opening Day variations carry very steep pack odds—1:669 packs—which can help value.
2019 Topps Opening Day Variations Set Details
Although the full lineup was not provided on the 2019 Topps Opening Day checklist, Topps did reveal the 15 players with even more limited signed versions. This should represent half of the expected 30-card set.
As for the remaining options and the corresponding images, we are workly to quickly add them as they surface. Based on the first few to show up, it would seem that many showcase players when they are not in the active field of play. This normally includes photos taken in or around the dugout, or celebrating, as opposed to the more standard batting or fielding action images on the base versions.
2019 Topps Opening Day Variation Codes
The CMP codes are again a helpful option to determine a variation. You just need to flip the card over, look at the long string of numbers under the stats, and check out the final three digits to see what you have.
