2018 Topps Chrome Baseball Variations Refractor Guide
If you are breaking into Chrome MLB this year, don't forget about the tough 2018 Topps Chrome Baseball variations. The super short print cards feature more relaxed or playful images of top stars and rookies.
Because they were left off the 2018 Topps Chrome Baseball checklist, collectors must pay special attention to the base cards to determine if they uncovered a variation. Our side-by-side gallery below should help clear that up. Like in 2017, the variations all display a Refractor finish and add low-numbered parallels.
This includes numbered Green, Orange and Red Refractors, plus SuperFractor versions.
It is also worth pointing out that there are additional Chrome variations for 2018 rookies that were issued as exclusives in the 2018 Topps Baseball Walmart Factory sets. They might cause some confusion but they are labeled as being from the Complete Sets on the back and utilize flagship numbering.
2018 Topps Chrome Baseball Variation Codes
Another way to identify the 2018 Topps Chrome Baseball variations is by checking the CODE#CMP number on the back of the card. The final digits of the small number can help you identify a short print.
- Base cards end in #161
- Photo Variations end in #195
