Exclusive to the online-only ePack format, collectors can obtain physical parallels, inserts, autographs and achievement cards by opening packs and building sets.
2017 Upper Deck Notre Dame 1988 Champions Base / Parallels
Although the 2017 Upper Deck Notre Dame 1988 Champions checklist is housed online, the true base set is the sole digital-only component. Rather than standard options that cover specific players, the 100-card base set highlights key plays and moments from throughout the championship season.
While these base cards can't be collected in the physical sense, there are parallels for the entire set that can be brought home. This includes pack-pulled Gold (1:2 packs) in every other pack, and Blue, which is numbered to just 88 copies. On the other hand, the Blue Pattern Rainbow physical parallel is earned by combining 10 of the same digital base card.
Those who complete the entire Gold parallel set can redeem it for one of three Gold Diamond Achievement cards (Notre Dame Stadium, South Bend, or Fiesta Bowl Champions). These physical cards are randomly awarded. There is also a Blue Diamond Achievement for the Notre Dame Stadium card that is earned by building the full Blue Pattern Rainbow parallel set.

Available in physical form, as well, 2017 Upper Deck Notre Dame 1988 Champions Football features themed 20-card inserts for Defining Moments (1:4 packs) and South Bend Standouts (1:5 packs). Submitting either set in it's entirety results in the #0 Insert Achievement from the specific set. If you can acquire and redeem five of the same award card, this earns the #00 Insert Achievement.

At approximately one per box, the 2017 Upper Deck Notre Dame 1988 Champions Football checklist delivers autographs with Fighting Irish Signatures. The overall odds for these cards is 1:21 packs. Limited inscription parallels apply to most of the signers at tough odds, including '88 National Champs and Go Irish, each averaging 1:404 packs. Closing out the pack-pulled options, the limited South Bend Standouts Autograph parallel has only 25 copies.
In addition, the first 20 collectors to redeem the full Blue parallel base set earn a 1988 Champions Dual Auto Achievement for Tony Rice and Raghib "Rocket" Ismail. Those who collect all nine achievement cards receive the 1988 Champions Quad Auto Achievement card, again featuring Rice and Ismail, along with Reggie Ho and Lou Holtz.
