Paying homage to the playful set that first debuted in 1967, the 2017 Topps Wacky Packages 50th Anniversary stickers continue to put their unique spin on the world.
Built around a 90-card base set, 2017 Topps Wacky Packages 50th Anniversary features new artwork across several subsets. Among the themes covered are apps, celebrities, cereal boxes, current events, movies, music, TV, and video games. There are also several different parallels with many specific to the Hobby Collector format, including:
- Blue - 1 per pack (Display Box)
- Sepia - 1 per pack (Hobby Collector only)
- Yellow - 1:2 packs (Hobby Collector only)
- Bronze - 1:2 packs (Hobby Collector only)
- Black Ludlow #/99 (Hobby Collector only)
- Silver #/50
- Red Ludlow Back #/25 (Hobby Collector only)
- Red #/10
- Gold 1/1
Adding to the base set is a trio of inserts. Best of the '00s is only found in the Display Box format while Wacky Packages Old School and Oversized Art Card Box Toppers are exclusive to the Hobby Collector box.
While the Wacky Packages brand is not really known for hits, 2017 Topps Wacky Packages 50th Anniversary still has several. In addition to Printing Plates and Artist Autographs, the main Sketch Cards are only in Display Boxes while there are three different versions of Shaped Sketch Cards in Hobby Collector boxes. Double Artist Panoramic Sketch Cards and Medallions are also exclusive to Hobby Collector.
