2017 Leaf Sports Icons Cut Signature Edition is the debut for the multi-sport brand. Each box contains an authentic signature that has been repurposed, framed and encapsulated. There are 16 boxes to a case.
While this is the initial set under the Sports Icons banner, Leaf has a long history of cut signature products from over the years. Touted as a "value-driven" release, some of the biggest names in the sporting world are expected.
The 2017 Leaf Sports Icons Cut Signature Edition checklist is not limited to one sport and instead focuses mainly on Hall of Fame players from multiple athletic pursuits. All-time greats from baseball, basketball, football, soccer and more were teased in the sales material.
Providing most of the design, the frame is patriotic in nature, with red, white and blue sections enhanced with an ornate finish. Although the card itself is not numbered, the slab is serial numbered to confirm the individual rarity.
