2017 Donruss Optic Football Cards

Opened 4-5 case of retail. Fun product. Too many inserts and virtually impossible to put together the insert sets due to how Panini collates the product. Excellent cards to get graded (which is why I opened so much). Too many “bench” players that have no chance of playing.

cracking case of mega box and really disappointed. there are no autos listed as being available. took 14 boxes to hit my first trubisky rr. the cards are coming in bunches and same order in the boxes. the red yellow are doing the same. seeing so many of the same guys over and over. for a 200 card checklist it’s pretty bad on how the cards are coming out and hoping I can get at least one base set. not much color either outside of the red yellow. they are 1:14 so about every other box I’m finding a prizm or insert. best prizm was /299 at this time. was really looking forward to this and looking to get more, but probably not now. blasters or fat packs might be better.

The Overall set appearance is nice, However piles of parallels, It seems the Donruss set is better for set builders this looks like it is supposed to be a chase set for hot packs.

The one thing they need to improve is making the backer a bit heavier its obvious as soon as I opened packs the cards are bowed Of the Boxes I bought I wouldn’t call my Auto pulls great,

I use to make the Topps chrome set every year and buy a refractor set. I chose optic to replace the loss of Topps chrome. I purchased a case of 2017 optic. I was able to make 2 complete base sets 1-200 with rookies. My big pulls were 1/1 gale sayers nicknames, golladay rc patch auto /10, gold rivers gridiron kings /10, green mahomes the rookies 3/5, red mcaffrey /99, fournett rc auto /99, JuJu rc auto /99, OJ Howard rc auto /50 purple. I’m about half way to a refractor holo set.

I enjoy Optic football, I feel there many pros and cons in this product though making it average. Since that seems to be the bar these days for both the big brands.

Like LC, I’ve seen these resealed boxes around the metro at different Walmart’s. These are not limited to Panini, I was a victim a couple different times, when blasters were given to me as a gift, from someone who don’t know to look for the emblems on the shrink wrap. I also feel Panini could maybe lose at least a half dozen of their products. The old saying, less is more? On the flip side of that coin, topps could stand to cut back about the same amount of their products as well. Each brand floods us with so many different products. It’s getting to be ridiculous. The obscene amount of parallels, the 10 subsets per Set, autos from guys who barely climb off the bench or sideline, or even made the team after training camp or spring training, sticker autos in BOTH products, (Not just Panini, for some reason topps lovers feel the need to point out Panini , when it comes to stickers. Topps does the same thing, in a lot of their products, ive got a few topps stickers, cards that even are #25 or less.), and then this crap at walmart where ppl actually take the time to open a blaster open packs, and replace their crap cards back in the box, reseal it and drive back to the store to return it for $19.99/tax. If life is THAT bad for you? Stop collecting, reevaluate your life choices, and then slap yourself. You’re a disgusting human being. I even bought 3 value packs of Gallery one day, one of which had actually been resealed. A $6.99 pack of cards had been resealed. With a bunch of early 2000s crap. Funny part? They did so well on the reseal of the pack, it was unnoticeable. That kind of attention to detail for $6.99? And you can’t find a job? Slap yourself twice. Soapbox rant done,

If you got packs with missing cards two WMs in the area I live were stocking boxes that had been resealed with shrink wrap that didn’t have the Panini logo I brought to there attention but one kept them on the shelves also the same with Panini basketball and Topps Gallery, picked up a Mega box of optic football today got Fournette, Kamara, Cook red and yellow although sort of sick of all the products though

1 star, as per the last couple of years, that Panini has taken over, Set builders stay away , more Parallels, and less Inserts.” ALL” top Rookies ( Watson, Fournette, etc ) scarce pulls, Ten boxes I opened, some boxes came with one card per pack? , or the one card in the pack was an advertisement to win Kid-Reporter? Missing memorabilia and no inserts, Donruss Football was the same? I called Panini out on 1st box, and I pretty much got a sucks to be you answer! Like a sucker, I’m into 3 more boxes that are the same, my emails and messages have not been returned as I speak! I’ve been doing this since I was 17 …… I’m 57 now! Am tired of the monopoly with this hobby, This product or any of their products, can’t be any better?I was told , Everything’s Automated? My next Question was what about quality control? His reply what about it?, it’s all automated! ….. buyer beware, I’ll keep u posted!
