Staying true to a reputation for having some of the most basic short prints in the hobby, the 2017 Donruss Optic Baseball variations include a few elite players with text alterations and also an image swap for an all-time legend.
Even less subtle than the 2016 set, the 2017 Donruss Optic Baseball Variations are hard to miss with the big nameplate at the top of the card. Nicknames and awards provide the inspiration for the changes. This means "The Mick" instead of Mickey Mantle and "MVP" in place of Mike Trout. While most don't change the image from the base, Mantle is the exception.
