The follow-up to the popular 2015 debut of the buyback brand, 2016 Topps Archives Signature Series All-Star Baseball tweaks the focus but stays true to the original format. Each hobby box promises one encased buyback autograph.

This time centering exclusively on the retired MLB All-Star names, each box of 2016 Topps Archives Signature Series will feature an original card from throughout the Topps Baseball history that has been signed on-card and numbered. There will also be a foil stamped brand logo on every card.

In addition to the main Autographs, collectors can find several different hard-signed versions. This includes new options like Legends Autographs, which look to the true greats of the game, as well as Dual Autographs and Autograph Relics.

Based on the moderate price and intriguing pulls, this was an appealing option to many collectors last year and the additional focus on All-Stars should only build on that.

While an exact number was not provided, 2016 Topps Archives Signature Series All-Star Baseball production will be limited.

Pulled a 1/1 Nolan Ryan die cut auto in my first box!!!!

Some of these guys are lifetime .240 hitters and 4.50 ERA pitchers. They aren’t all-stars. Too many common autos.

The buy back cards are awful, I could see if they had some specialness to the card itself, then signed and stamped, but the cards you get in every case is a joke. Tekulve, Baines, Fernandez, Mulder, Dent, Vizquel, Griffey Sr, Franco, I just watched a break, the best card out of 20 was Jose Canseco, maybe Jim Abbott, either way those 2 guys are in every break as well. Lowest rating of any product I have seen.

There are a handful of good names and mostly atrocious ones. I got three boxes and got Tony Fernandez, Jeff Conine and Bucky Dent. If doing the math at home, that’s $150 spent and about $15 in autos as a return. I understand the checklist has to be filled with clunkers like my pulls so that there can be a couple Griffeys, Koufaxes and Aarons out there, but on balance this is a tough product to stomach unless you hit the jackpot, because there is no other appeal like inserts/parallels etc. to make up for the common auto.

How can they release it without a Checklist..Come on Man ! Flooding the Market with Junk Autos NOT Cool !

This product is so much fun. Way better content than last year. Better names, lower numbering. Of course there’s going to be some “bad” names, same with any product, but sheer fun and memories it brings back makes it great.

This product is terrible. Its called an All Star edition but guys like John Olerud and Tony Fernandez are in there? Granted its a cheaper product but Olerud autos sell for $1-$3, as well as most of the other guys in this product. Disappointing…

TO be honest, I’m not a big fan of them bringing this back, as it seems to lessen the “specialness” of buybacks. I hope they use different cards from last year, at least!
