Continuing their tradition of the last few years, 2016 Topps All-Star FanFest Baseball is a promo set that is available at the Midsummer Classic FanFest in San Diego. The options include a base set as well as more limited patch cards.
Honoring the site of the All-Star Game, several Padres are included in the release as well as the biggest current names in baseball like Mike Trout, Bryce Harper and Kris Bryant. The main wrapper redemption includes six cards that are individually redeemed by opening three packs of any 2016 Topps or 2016 Bowman product at the Topps booth. Collectors are limited to one card per subject (six total cards) each day of the event that runs from July 8 to July 12, 2016.
While a seventh card in the base 2016 Topps All-Star FanFest Baseball set features David Ortiz, the only way to snag this one is to make a purchase at the Topps booth using a MasterCard credit or debit card.
Topps will also be selling 2016 Topps Baseball complete sets that will include a manufactured All-Star Game patch for six players. Limited to 150 copies, Ted Williams joins a group of current stars in the insert. Williams is shown as a member of the San Diego Padres minor league team of the Pacific Coast League. Padres legend Tony Gwynn is also featured.
Although the 2016 Topps All-Star FanFest Baseball cards will be a draw for many collectors in the area and on eBay, Topps is also hosting several other events, giveaways and contests during the festivities.
