Adding to Panini's NCAA product line, 2016 Panini Baylor Bears Collegiate highlights memorable athletes from their playing days at Baylor University. Each blaster box contains one autograph or one memorabilia card.
As one would expect, football makes up the larger portion of the 50-card base set. Football and BU fans alike will enjoy finding two-time All-American and Pro Football Hall of Famer Mike Singletary, as well as, the only Heisman Trophy winner in Bears’ history — Robert Griffin III, or RG3, as the quarterback is commonly referred. Additionally, more recent NFL draftees include Andrew Billings, two-time Heisman Trophy candidate Bryce Petty, Corey Coleman, and two-time consensus All-American Spencer Drango.
Even though the set is mainly football-focused, both baseball and basketball are covered by a few heavy-hitters. Representing Baylor Bears baseball, fans can find outfielder David Murphy along with relief pitcher Shawn Tolleson. Players who started their careers on the hardwood at the Ferrell Center include Quincy Acy and Taurean Prince. Apart from the player-centered cards, the base set includes cards highlighting Baylor Bears' sports history. In addition, the product offers Baylor Silver, Baylor Gold, and Baylor Black parallels.
Autographs and Memorabilia cards are the two primary hits in2016 Panini Baylor Bears Collegiate while the Honors insert pays homage to those named All-Americans or Heisman Trophy winners. Autograph parallels are numbered to 99 and the Honors Silver parallel is accented by holographic foil.
