"It's Morphin' Time" for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as they are set to make a comeback with the Funko Pop Power Rangers release. Part of a growing vinyl arsenal, the celebrated defenders of Earth can be found in several different Power Rangers sets, including versions in Pop! Television and Movies.
Getting underway, the earliest Funko Pop Power Rangers set included Red Ranger, White Ranger and Pink Ranger. There is also a 2013 San Diego Comic-Con exclusive for White Ranger that carries a production number of just 480 figures. All of the Wave 1 figures are now retired and command very strong values.
Although the original TV show had six Power Rangers—Red Ranger (Austin St. John), Yellow Ranger (Thuy Trang), Black Ranger (Walter Jones), Pink Ranger (Amy Jo Johnson), Blue Ranger (David Yost), and Green Ranger (Jason David Frank)—the Funko Pop Power Rangers Wave 2 set includes only four, with Green, Black, Yellow and Blue Ranger.
Wave 3 of Funko Pop Power Rangers features the Pink, Red and White Ranger in an action pose. In addition, the 25th-anniversary release looks back at many of the key subjects.
Moving to the big screen for the 2017 film, the Funko Pop Power Rangers line is also part of Pop! Movies. With a new, sleek and modern look, collectors can find five Rangers—Black Ranger, Blue Ranger, Pink Ranger, Red Ranger, and Yellow Ranger—in a fierce fighting stance.
