Pinky and the Brain first appeared on the animated television series Animaniacs (which also has a Funko Pop set) with recurring short skits for two seasons before getting their own series. Living in the Acme Labs research facility, the two genetically enhanced mice break out of their cage each night with new ways to take over the world.
Pinky, a kind albeit dim-witted mouse, and Brain, a deceitful and egotistical mouse, are the after-effects of Biological Recombinant Algorithmic Intelligence Nexus, a gene-splicing program aptly named B.R.A.I.N. for short. Every episode begins with a global domination plan that ultimately ends in failure, in part, because Pinky inadvertently foiled Brain's plans. Pinky and the Brain won several Emmy Awards and a PRISM Award for its anti-smoking episode.
