Funko Pop Duck Dodgers brings a little Looney Tunes sci-fi to Pop! Animation. The line includes several figures from the Daffy Duck-based series.
Daffy Duck first portrayed Duck Dodgers in 1953's Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th Century. The main Funko Pop Duck Dodgers set includes Duck Dodgers and Space Cadet along with Marvin the Martian and his beloved pet, K-9. There are also metallic chase variants for Dodgers and Space Cadet that are randomly found in place of the base figures at retail. Full box odds for each variant figure will be added when available.
And, for those wanting even more to chase, two limited Duck Dodgers figures are included in the 2016 Funko San Diego Comic-Con Exclusives checklist. These exclusives carry a specific print run.
The Merrie Melodies cartoon features Daffy as a space hero and Porky Pig as his assistant, Space Cadet. They are in search of a rare element (Illudium Phosdex). The duo travel to “Planet X,” the only place the element can be found. However, things go sideways when villain Marvin the Martian arrives.
Due to its popularity, the seven-minute film had several sequels and its very own television series reboot, Duck Dodgers, on the Cartoon Network from 2003 to 2005.
