I really like the ’82 cards. I got a Mike Trout and a Kris Bryant auto in the same pack

Great set (as were the past couple years of Donruss) with lots of goodies. I pulled a Cal Ripken Test Proof (/25) and a Cal Ripken Holometric Foil (/299) out of the first two boxes, along with several inserts, SP’s and alternate borders. Not sure why some don’t like the design – it’s very clean, retro and tasteful. Def a fan of these over the more recent Topps cards, though I love them too. Price is right on these as well! Recommended for all but the most pure of purists.

I have a question about the Variations listed. None of the variations show they are numbered except 1/1. When I look on eBay I only find regular base variations. I have. Ken Griffey Jr. That is a variation with a foil background numbered to 40 because it is stamped 40 home runs in 2000. Do you have any more information on these variations?

Good Value for your buck. I’ve picked this product up twice and both times I’ve pulled something really nice looking. But I do see what some people are saying about the base cards themselves.

I actually say it’s above average good inserts but the logo thing I really don’t care for but when you open the packs you feel that your getting all excellent players because you are! Like someone else said completing the set will be a huge pain in the a#! But I like when blaster boxes have a guarantee auto or relic card makes me buy more boxes!!

Awesome product to open for the price. The base cards have thicker stock but do tend to curl. However the inserts are beautiful and plentiful. I would rather bust this over topps.

I bought my first blaster of Donruss the other day and was pleased/surprised at how good they were. I thought they were cheap “knockoffs” but was pleased by my pulls off of shop bought. I am disappointed by no logos, but it’s not a deal breaker. They won’t be the first product I reach for but, I’ll buy them occasionally. A fun set to collect.

I’m not sure that guy above knows what the word monopoly means. Donruss is refreshing in a Topps dominated world. I would truly love to see four officially licensed brands like back in the late 80’s early 90’s instead of seeing 15 versions of the same Topps card with different colored borders. Until then: Make mine Donruss.

Donruss knocks it out of the park again. If you can get past the airbrushed logos (which don’t really bother me), this product is far superior to its Topps counterpart. Awesome design, great inserts & parallels, well-selected player set. It’s my opinion that Donruss does the best job of capturing the magic of collecting at its peak in the 80s and combining that with the current state of collecting today (autos, relics, inserts, SN, etc).

These cards are garbage quality wise. I’ve liked the past couple years but these look like parodies. They’re overly glossy and curl incredibly easily. I’d expect something like this to come out of a cereal box like any other cheap toy.

I like that the cards are thicker than Topps. The no logo thing is a bit of a downer, but they are getting better at picture selection and editing.

It also helps that I pulled a Bryant auto from the 6 packs I got.

Like every Panini product this has a diverse auto checklist and includes players normally not in Topps products. The cards have a nice feel for the price and there are plenty of parallels that are nice. The inclusion of sp’s in the base set can be a pain in order to complete the set but it can make finishing the set fun as well. Three hits at the price point make this a Topps base set killer, even if it doesn’t have logos.

Sure, some of the images may have been used in prior products… and no, the product contains no team names or logos.

And yet… Donruss is a really fun and often rewarding break. I gather it’s not for everyone, particularly collecting purists, but there is something for everyone in this product. Hall of Famers? Hall of Shamers? Rookies? Check, check and check.
The stock is sturdy, each hobby box yields 3 hits on average (Prince Fielder 1/C jersey, Don Newcomb auto, Trea Turner auto), the product contains a variety of SPs…. MSRP is $70 or so? What’s not to like!

Where have I seen many of these photos before Panini?

I have no problem with the issue of logos. I love Donruss! You get so much for your money: the inserts are killer! I enjoy this product so much!

Total junk…what an insult to the great “real” Donruss products of the 1980’s and 1990’s. I wish Panini would keep their noses out of baseball… they don’t have an MLB license, and make airbrushed products….. do they not have a monopoly in enough sports?
