2015 Topps Star Wars High Tek Variation Short Prints and Patterns Guide
Variations
Normally reserved for sports card sets, Star Wars collectors can get in on the variation fun with multiple options in 2015 Topps Star Wars High Tek. While the differences are hard to spot in some releases, they are much more obvious in High Tek, with a focus on character photos that showcase different costumes. Other elements come into play with the ten different base patterns.
Limited to just ten subjects, several key names, including Han Solo and Princess Leia, have two different variations. The rest only offer one variation, bringing the grand total to 15 cards. The limited variants are fairly tough to pull at 1:24 packs/boxes.
As far as distinguishing the versions, there are several ways to do that. First, the image changes are highlighted below and are generally the most obvious way to spot them. Also, variations add an "A" or "B" to the card numbering on the back and offer another option to identify the cards. Building on that, each version also has a different headline that is listed on the back. Lastly, the base card is the only one to include multiple background patterns, so that is another way to rule out the non-variations.
The base patterns are a little more tricky as the design names were provided but the original info did not appear to match up exactly. We have pieced things together on the next tab to help collectors identify the many options.

Base Patterns
Like each of the recent High Tek products, variations are not the only differences to find. Every card in the base set comes in five different background designs that are noted below. Because there are two groups of base cards, there are a total of ten patterns but each card is only found with the five that are aligned with their specific group.
