See All the Will Ferrell Cards in 2015 Topps Archives Baseball

For the past 20 years or so, Will Ferrell has been one of Hollywood's biggest comedies. Whether it was a centerpiece performer on Saturday Night Live, going streaking in Old School, playing epic flute solos in Anchorman or saying grace in Talladega Nights, Ferrell knows funny. During spring training, the comedian tried his hand at baseball, playing ten positions for ten teams in a single day. Publicity stunt? Absolutely. But one that was used to raise money for cancer research as well as promote his special. The story continues with ten Will Ferrell cards in 2015 Topps Archives Baseball.

Each of the ten teams Ferrell played for are represented in the insert set. Each has an image taken from his short stint in each uniform. Being that it's Archives, all of the Will Ferrell inserts use a different design from Topps' history.

The regular versions of the cards aren't tough to pull, landing 1:24 hobby and retail boxes. The easiest way to find them is in retail blaster boxes where they're 1:8 packs.

While the Will Ferrell cards arrived with plenty of buzz and high prices when the set first came out, both should drop. That said, these will likely still generate more long-term interest than the average basic insert set.

The true gems in this set are the signed versions. Each of the 2015 Topps Archives Will Ferrell Autographs are numbered to 10. With just 100 total autographs to go around, they're obviously very tough to pull. There will likely be some added fuel as team collectors enter the mix.

As if the autographs didn't need another wrinkle, Ferrell's signature is actually fairly tough to come by. He's not a big signer so these represent something that not only has his autograph but a verified one at that.

The first few 2015 Topps Archives Will Ferrell Autographs brought in big sales on eBay. A While $2,000 may seem extreme, that's what the first Dodgers autograph quickly sold for via a Buy It Now. Other fast sales include a Diamondbacks for $900 and a Reds autograph for $700.

Does anyone have any idea how many of the auto cards have been ‘found’ so far? Would hate to buy a bunch of hobby boxes looking for one, only to find out there aren’t any more out there.
I am sure it would be hard to know. huh?
Thanks!

DR » The only thing you can really do is check completed listings on eBay. Not perfect, but it will give you a general idea. Prices have cooled so it might be easier and cheaper to just buy one versus buying multiple boxes and hoping to hit one. One sold for around $600 on 7/21.
