Inkworks had a lot of success with their Buffy the Vampire Slayer trading card line. However, one thing alluded them through its many Buffy-themed releases, an autograph from the show's lead and face of the franchise, Sarah Michelle Gellar. 2015 Rittenhouse Buffy the Vampire Slayer Ultimate Collector's Set finally makes the once impossible happen.
Sarah Michelle Gellar autographs anchor the small factory set. Limited to 400 sets, each 2015 Rittenhouse Buffy the Vampire Slayer Ultimate Collector's Set has one of two different Gellar autographs as well as nine stickers.
Both of the autographs, one full-bleed and the other with a bordered design, are printed in equal quantities. That means 200 copies of each. They're distributed at random, although those who order an even number from the card maker receive an equal number of each design.
The nine stickers focus on the show's best-known characters. While the design is original, they're clearly inspired by the thick-bordered Topps stickers from the 1970s and 1980s.
The 2015 Rittenhouse Buffy the Vampire Slayer Ultimate Collector's Set not only has the first Buffy autographs, but the first official sketch cards for the franchise as well. They're distributed as an incentive for those ordering four sets. Artists include Tim Shay, Rhiannon Owens, John Haun, Scott Rorie, and Mick and Matt Glebe.
