2015 Leaf Trinity Baseball Cards

Product Details

User Rating:

One of the premium brands in the Leaf arsenal, 2015 Leaf Trinity Baseball takes a high-end look at prospect collecting. Collectors can find on-card autographs, inscriptions and large patches along with a few special inclusions. Each box features six autographs.

Centered around three main card options, the ongoing theme is hard-signed content and quality designs. Trinity Signatures features a horizontal layout and large signing area. The young prospects make good use of the space as many feature inscriptions. Additionally, Trinity Patch Autographs inserts a large patch into the Signatures design and Pure Autographs features a clear stock. All of the designs also come as parallels numbered as low as one-of-one.

While the checklist is largely composed of top minor league players and 2015 MLB draftees, a few names stand out from the rest. Yoan Moncada is a rising star for the Boston Red Sox and his signed cards average one per case. Similar to what Leaf has done in previous years, a big name that falls outside of the baseball world is also available. The second pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, Jack Eichel is a Leaf exclusive and one of the top young stars in the hockey world. This limited card commemorates Eichel throwing out the first pitch at Fenway Park on July 24, 2015.

A new wrinkle for 2015 Leaf Trinity Baseball, the Mystery Celebrity Signature is billed as a "long awaited sports celebrity" who "fits perfectly in this exciting release." The subject has since been revealed as Kevin Costner and there are versions for both Bull Durham and Field of Dreams.

User Reviews

  1. I have been wanting a Costner baseball/auto card for a long time. There have been other Costner cards out there, but I think these look really nice.

  2. Kevin Costner. Couldn’t have a better choice. Met the guy at the Little League World Series one year while working there. He’s a lot smaller/shorter IRL than I expected. I was practically a head taller than him when I was 18, at about 6″ tall myself. Cool guy, but he’s a bit short with people. Not mean or anything. Just. A bit impersonal.

  3. Great Player selection. Game worn patches are some of the best I’ve seen. The PURE are just different enough to be cool.

  4. Sorry but 2013 Leaf Trinity has a way better design and group of prospects that have already hit the majors(obviously since its 2 yrs ago). But the product has more potential. And what the people on eBay are asking for these players(2015 product) makes me wonder what’s the true/realistic value of players like Correa and Bryant in 2013! The pure glass cards even had a better design to them. The patches weren’t all nice like they did with last years and this years. I mean yoan mocada should not have a patch that says 2013 Red Sox on it since he wasn’t even on the team! That’s why IMO 2013s product will be one of those unique products like finest in the 90’s. It’s just ashame that people prefer chrome to something unique like this! Theirs plenty of sp, really nice patches of players or even the pure cards that won’t even touch the values of a Bryant chrome refractor that their are 500 of! I know chrome is liscensed and leaf is not but are you buying the logo or the player or what is a person exactly looking for in collecting? Just look at the chrome Swanson autos, etc..Bryant and correa just like Strasburg, trout, and Harper did was hype up a draft class to overvalue a player before they even hit the market. Another thing I don’t like is they are putting players like judge and buxton in this years product when they were in it in 2013…and where’s the PG high school players?

  5. Also, what’s the print run of the base cards? 99 again for the pure glass like last year?

  6. Reviewing a product ANY product, is an unfair task. Elements such as price point vs. spendable income, box collation, autographs/memorabilia/Short-Prints, personal product preference and prior experience w/a given manufacturer all factor into a given products’ summary.
Some elements, however, are non-negotiable. Regardless of the auto-mem’-SPs that a given box yields, Hobby enthusiasts MUST feel that the quality and quantity of a given product correlates with its price point.
    Towards this end, Leaf Trinity deliversand does so with style. Although the manufacturer is unable to use MLB logos, Leaf nimbly navigates this conundrumand does so in a way that still leaves MOST collectors satisfied. The box I cracked gave birth to;
    1. Drew Finley auto
    2. Yoan Moncada auto #8/25
    3. Alex Young #1/10
    4. Thomas Eshelman auto notation #5/25
    5. Tyler Nevin auto patch
    6. Alex Bregman auto patch

That’s a pretty rich cross-section of high picks and touted talent. While prospective purchasers of Trinity may point to my break and say, of course he loved the product, the most critical aspect of the product is the very credible attempt to provide collectors with a legit’ bang for buck.
    Nuff’ Said, collectors.and happy breaks!
