2015 Leaf Signature Series Hockey Cards

One of these days, if anyone is like me anyway-the masses will completely revolt against Panini and their million sticker autos and turn to products like Leaf. If anyone follows The Knight’s Lance by Panini, it seems they have some new product out every single week in basketball and football. It’s nuts and makes me want to vomit. Just this last week, I saw the latest was Panini “Eminence” Basketball. After Select there was Select Certified. After that there was “Totally Certified.” Next will be Super Duper Awesome and Ridiculously Certified!” Just because of their deal with the NFLPA and NBA, the athletes must commit to signing thousands of pages of stickers to eventually be slapped on all of Panini’s 73 football brands.

Same crap that led me away from the hobby in the early 90’s…

Thank God, it’s only UD and Leaf/ITG for this sport-I say!

One McDavid per case. Sergei Fedorov, Mario Lemieux, Patch Autos, Low Numbered future draft picks. Formula for a winner. Buy into the product right and your cost per auto is incredibly reasonable. No reason this product shouldn’t make money.

and for real collectors .. its not like buying this stuff will stop you from buying the UD stuff when it comes out to..
buy this… make a profit now and have more money to buy the UD stuff later on

I think this is Leaf’s way of dumping all of their remaining stickers for many of the junior players…
Example…
For Leaf Metal – 200 10 box cases = 2000 boxes total
cards were (mostly) numbered by color #d to 5, 10, 15, 25 etc.. but the un-numbered base ones were available prety equivalently to the numbered… I mean many packs had NO non-numbered base – so the nn base quantity should be comparable to maybe 30-40 of each of the base set or so…
For H + P – prod number was also similar to Metal #s
all autos were numbered so you knew the low number quantity of what you get..
and you usually got 2-3 low numbered(below #d 10) per pack – hence low print run

BUT here there are MANY non-numbered bronze autos in a pack.. which makes me think the prod run is way higher – NOT released as far as I can see

People only think of the CUP when they compare what will come from UD…
but everything else from UD will not be as low numbered as much of the Leaf stuff for this years draft future stars….
there is good value in the first 2 Leaf products but not so much here — unless you hit a LOW number auto.

I rather enjoyed this product and did not need to pull a McDavid to do so. The designs were beautiful with a great selection of legends. I wish there were logos, but I would rather get value. Did panini or does Upper Deck deliver value with their logos? Upper Deck has been poor to medium value lately and zero new concepts. They never would deliver 8 autos a box with names like this. Panini tried at least. Leaf has become a great alternative until UD products start to kick in.

I really really dislike Leaf products and I’m only speaking from me personally. I just think they’re an awful investment. Obviously you’re shooting for a limited McDavid hit and if you do luck out – my advice is to sell it asap. Just as an example look for one of Crosby’s junior cards – it’s practically worth peanuts at this point in time. That being said – save your money for NHL licensed cards and even more so – save your money for sets that are at least hard signed. Again just speaking from my personal point of view. I hope to see Leaf get hosed from the marketplace and hope floats but PLEASE Panini – I hope to see you again :)

No team logos, no thanks.

I opened 2 boxes. Pulls were OK I guess. Nothing extraordinary. The checklist in general is rather mediocre with a lot of legends almost nobody cares about anymore (with all due respect for the players). I guess this is Leaf. From a seller perspective, I know clients don’t like too much the Leaf products so the reselling value is not very high unless you get a really big hit. Even a very small serial numbered Patrick Roy autograph for example sells for very low comparing to Upper Deck or Panini.
