2015 Bowman's Best Baseball Cards

2015 Bowman’s Best Baseball Cards

Product Details

User Rating:

2015 Bowman's Best Baseball marks the brand's return as a standalone set for the first time in a decade. The product mixes elements in a couple of different ways. The checklist features veterans, rookies, prospects and 2015 draft picks. From a thematic standpoint, it blends new elements with some from when the brand's early days when it was one of the most popular in the hobby.

Boxes have a similar configuration as Topps Finest in that they're done as mini boxes. Each has six packs. Combined, each 2015 Bowman's Best master box has four autographs.

The 2015 Bowman's Best Baseball base set is on on chrome-style card stock. Not surprisingly, there are a handful of Refractor parallels. The easiest to pull are Atomic Refractors, which land one per box. Numbered parallels include BlueGreen, Gold, Orange (#/25), Red (#/5) and Superfractors (1/1). There are also Printing Plates.

Unlike most Bowman sets, the mix of veteran, rookie and prospect players extends into the autographs. Best of 2015 Autographs are done on chrome stock and have a similar parallel structure as the main set.

1995 Bowman's Best Autographs go back to one of the most popular sets in the brand's history. Some of the signatures are on-card while others use stickers. Parallels include Orange Refractors (#/25), Red Refractors (#/5) and Superfractors (1/1).

Another dip into the past are the Mirror Image inserts. These also use a design from 1995. The idea behind this set is to pair players who have similar traits in some form.

First Impressions is dedicated to first round picks from the 2015 MLB Draft. Besides a mix of Refractors, select players also have autographed versions.

Hi-Def Heritage is inspired by the TV-look of 1955 Bowman Baseball. However, long gone are the woodgrain consoles so the look has been updated. Atomic Refractor parallels are a case hit. Other Refractor parallels come in Orange (#/25), Red (#/5) and Superfractor (1/1). There are also autographed versions randomly inserted.

Trey is a lifelong sports fanatic. He is a huge fan of the NBA and NFL, as well as soccer, college basketball and college football. As a kid, he collected football and basketball cards. In more recent years, he started collecting basketball cards again on a whim and has since expanded to other sports and entertainment options.

I bought 1box and pulled a Syndergaard printing plate auto and kyle tucker auto. I know this was extremely lucky but those results defineatly warrant buying another box or two.

Why is there no mention of the blue refractors that are serial # d / 150. It mentions all the other colors of the base card refractors but not the blue, why is that?

I love this set, the colors pop, the fact that you get four autos for under 100 dollars is awesome. I like the fact that the base sets are in the lower card count. The Bowman Bestbwas the first card that made me into a collector, 1997 Bowmans Best Roy Halladay

I agreed with most on the what seemed like a poor design, but the value and fun of opening the box quickly overcomes any reservations. In my opinion this is BY FAR the best product of the year. It’s fun to open, a solid opening price point, and great value in every box. After my initial 2 boxes, I went back and bought 2 cases. Most autos are on-card and while not every box can be a home run, every box is at least decent.

I love this product. Great balance between veterans, rookies and futures stars. Great opportunity to get Bryant, Trout, Harper and autos of Swanson and the newer players. Great value and I see a lot of upside as the younger player develop.

The cards look nice. I’ve bought several boxes but no luck at getting kris bryant auto. Trey do you know what’s the best box to try and get a kris bryant auto?

This set offers a lot. Great ‘value’ in terms of what you are guaranteed to hit, expansive insert collection, top player, top rcs, all on card autos. Big money potential hits but boxes are well priced. FAVORITE PART HANDS DOWN IS THE 1995 BOWMANS BEST THROWBACK AUTOGRAPHS. Fun rip.

4 guaranteed autos @ a decent price point to start. I pulled on card AUs of Cole Tucker, Matt Chapman, orange Brad Zimmer #/25, and ROY Kris Bryant. So yes, I am happy but the card stock and design ain’t shabby either. Love the chance to pull 95′ design autos and some atomic refractor bling!

I think that a lot of people look at cards and if they don’t agree with it they don’t think it is a good product. You can’t coin a value for the product if you base solely on selling – which is a terrible way to enjoy a hobby. Also I think the designs themselves are interesting and unique in there own way. If there going to put out 15 different lines from 10 different manufacturers then at least the cards look different. Worst part is the way they choose players. For instance putting all older players in product that haven’t played in 50 years but a rookie who hit the longest home run for a part of the season isn’t featured.

Love the 1995 set tie in.

Outstanding quality. I have a question… I have several Best of 2015 autograph cards from a case break. About 1/3 of them are clearly refractors and 2/3 are not. Your checklist does not mention anything about just plain refractors. It has several variations, all with serial numbers. The refractors I have do not have any serial numbers.

Yeah I think this will be a good buy. If I have a good shot at Bryant and Correa in this set that would be sweet.

Funny how people are giving “reviews” and down-rating a product more than 6 months before its release… especially since they are basing it on card mock-up images instead of actual cards…

Personally, if the mock-up images are accurate, I like these designs more than this years Topps Finest and a few other products (aside from the “Bowman’s Best” logo, which kind of clashes with the rest of the card…)

It is my understanding that there is not going to be Bowman Platinum and Bowman Sterling this year. Don’t think its really fair to say Bowman’s Best is replacing those sets since Bowman’s Best looks like its geared towards prospects, rookies, and veterans whereas Sterling and Platinum were just prospects and rookies, as far as autos were concerned. I don’t think the design looks bad. The Hi-Def tv cards look pretty cool.

This set reminds me of 2014 Finest. Awful design, crazy colors. Waste of a set. What an awful return for the Bowman’s Best set!

Those are some ugly, ugly cards.
