2015-16 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey Cards

It’s a very cool looking product, great rookies as all know so every pack is a party! Myself pulled Victor Hedman 1of1 orinting plate the other day and it was soooo cool!
18-19 platinum is as good as this!
Easy the most fun product on the market for us who actually love the cards we get, not just the names on the card and wont spend 300$ on a box with one pack.

I like this set a great deal, having purchased my share. I do have one question though. I pulled a Sean Monahan Blue Rainbow Autograph (R 30) and I can’t find it in your checklist. Not even Beckett lists it. It is that rare a pull???

There are folks selling packs on eBay. Is there a way to know if the packs came from a hobby or box? Are the wrappers different?

@James Ryan – You must be talking about the “Marquee Rookie” cards which are actually not the rookie cards of the set – they are just inserts . The naturally numbered rookies are the rookie auto cards which are incredibly hard to pull…FAR less than 1 per box (1 auto per box and there are alot of other auto types than the true rookie autos)

4 stars! Great color scheme and insert pull ratio. Reason not giving it increddible is because I fel the rookies could be harder to pull giving them more value.

Great product! Even though I feel the rookies should be a little harder to pull giving them more value. The color scheme is great and the inserts and autos are very attractive. Over all I would say an 8 out of 10.

I really like this product! Every box has something great even the retail. Although I have always been of the opinion that retail should have all the same inserts and short prints as hobby only harder pull ratio. The colour variations are beautiful and the over all product is good although the rookies should be a little harder to pull giving them more value.

This is one of the better products this year. I’ve picked up 2 boxes so far and had a lot of decent hits in them both. No big hits yet but a lot of very good hits throughout the box. It’s a nice product to collect between products for bigger collectors and is reasonably priced so kids could collect these cards too. I will definitely be buying more.

Only negatives so far is I didn’t receive an auto in my first box (which I have contacted UD already) and a few of the cards have come with marks on edges/corners. Other than that I have been pleased with the product.

Definitely one of the best collections of the year. I particularly liked that, contrary to the last year, they put on the back of the card the name of the parallel: Rainbow, Traxx, etc.

I actually think this set is pretty cool. I really think it’s about 3.5 stars not 4, but I couldn’t rate it as low as 3.

I think the cards are really great looking accross the board…the base, marquees, retros, insert sets and various parallels are all great to look at. The way they’ve organized the pack configuration means that opening a box is a ton of fun regardless of what you actually pull. The price is fairly reasonable and overall it’s a fun product.

My 2 main complains are:

1. The quality control is typical of UD this year…scuffs, imperfect cuts/edges, alot of curling that is typical of chrome cards, etc

2. They made the rookies an insert set and the natural rookies are the rookie autos. This is kind of a dick move for this product as this product typically appeals to set builders and generally collectors on a budget…what are the odds of many on-a-budget sec-collectors paying like $300 for a connor mcdavid rookie auto so they can say their set is complete?

I was really looking forward to this release as I thought last year’s was pretty good. I liked that RCs were just part of the main set so you could collect a decent bunch in every box. Unfortunately no such luck this year. They made the RC autos the main rcs so you only get one in every other box. Plus the cards aren’t chromium any more, they look more like cardboard with silver foil. I bought half a case with high expectations, but this was absolute garbage. I am really disappointed with Upper Deck. With the strong RC class they could have grabbed a lot of casual collectors this year with a good offering. Instead it has been horrible. I will not be back to collect hockey next year.

A fun product with neat looking cards. One might potentially hit something really big ie a low numbered McDavid, Larkin, Eichel. Most boxes seem to be pretty decent.

release in Canada is MAY 4TH

I’m trying to look forward to this product and set some money aside for it..but man, it’s impossible to get some definitive release date information these days!!

That’s no knock against cardboardconnection as they’ve got a great tracker up generally..but they can only give us information that they get…and it seems to be MIA at the moment

Trey >> Ok, that’s unfortunate, but thank you for your response. It seems like the OPCP release will be later rather than sooner. If it’s released in five days, there should’ve been some info out by now i guess.

I did a bit a searching, and it seems like there are multiple dates, the 16th, 23rd, 31st and April 20. April 20 coming from Universal Distribution website. So who knows. Typical UD always a guessing game with release dates.

Zach >> I’m from Sweden. The biggest retailer of sports cards here listed that info on their homepage. I’m not sure if it’s right though. Also DAcardworld has 03/16 as the release date. That�s only nine days away, so the checklist should be out soon.

Daniel- was wondering what sites you found that information from? It does makes sense, cause cardboard connection has spx on the same day, I assume UD gave them that info, and it doesn’t make sense for UD to have two brand new product out on the same day.

Hey Trey, any word on when the checklist will be released? I’ve seen on some site that the est. release date is set to 03/16. That’s pretty soon if true.

I lost a battle with Upper Deck who at this point will not respond to my emails. I let them know that maybe if someone proves they spend so much money on their product, they could have some sort of care package.
Please remember to to keep all UPC Codes and your receipts when purchasing cards. You will need this to get a replacement from Upper Deck.

I really enjoyed this product from last year except the cards warp a little.
I do notice the price went up but still cheaper then other product. We will see.

any idea how much the boxes will cost?
