Much to the delight of wrestling fans and collectors, 2014 Topps WWE Wrestling is back and with some new additions. The product promises two hits and plenty of inserts.
The 110-card base set features Superstars, Divas, Legends, and Rookies. For the first time, rookie card (RC) emblems will be applied to those making their first card appearance. Parallels add to the base set, with Black (1:6 packs), Silver (1:24 packs, Hobby exclusive), Gold (#/10), and Red (1/1).
Featuring 15 Superstars and five Divas, NXT Prospect inserts showcases top options from the minor league wresting circuit. These inserts are found in every other pack. WWE Champions includes 30 of the top champions in the last 50 years and fall 1:4 packs. Greatest Championship Matches profiles the top 20 championship matches and drop around three per box.
Greatest Contenders showcases ten wrestlers who came up short in the championship match. These inserts average two cards per box. The Stone Cold Steve Austin Tribute pays homage to the wrestling-great with a 10-card set, which averages one card per box.
Printing Plates are available for all base and insert cards.
A new option that is likely to very popular, Commemorative Championship Belt includes 30 subjects and six different belt designs. There are 12,000 total cards, so assuming even distribution, that equals about 400 per card.
Multiple autograph sets add to the possible hits. Base Autographs total 4,800 cards and include Black (50 per subject), Silver (25 per subject), Gold (10 per subject) and Red (1 per subject) parallels. Triple Autographs feature three different subjects and 25 total cards. Quadruple Autographs add one more signer and include only five cards.
The Divas get their recognition as well. Diva Kiss Cards are back with 1,000 total cards. Autographed Diva Kiss Cards add a signature and are even more rare, with only 100 total cards.
Relic cards round out 2014 Topps WWE Wrestling. Swatch Relics include a variety of Superstar and Diva clothing, including the Undertaker for the first time. There are 16,000 total Swatch Relics. SummerSlam Mat Relics include a piece of the mat from the 2103 SummerSlam event, and are limited to 6,000 total cards.
