2014 Topps Triple Threads Baseball Says the Darndest Things
Just as the name suggests, 2014 Topps Triple Threads Baseball has a lot of relics. While some of them take on traditional approaches, this is Triple Threads and it has some traditions of its own.
For years, the set has been home to some out-there die-cut relic displays. Some are straightforward. Others require you to turn on the Bumper Stumpers side of your brain.
If nothing else, it makes an otherwise plain memorabilia card a little more interesting and out of the ordinary.
A lot of these captions make perfect sense and are easy to figure out. They're based on nicknames, stats, nationality and leave it at that. Like this Derek Jeter, which is perfect in its clarity.
Others might be head-scratchers to some. With limited space on the card front, it can take some creative spelling to squeeze some notes on the front. Even if the message makes sense in a texting sort of way, it can leave some open to interpretation.
