2014 Topps Opening Day Baseball Variations Guide
As you're flipping through your 2014 Topps Opening Day Baseball packs, flip carefully and be on the lookout for variations. Like Series 1 and Heritage, there are several cards that come with short-printed versions that come with alternate photos.
Inserted 1:222 packs, some of the 2014 Topps Opening Day variations come with shots from distinct moments. For example, Koji Uehara is shown immediately after the World Series wrapped up. Jacoby Ellsbury's variation comes from his introductory press conference after signing with the Yankees.

Variations can also be identified by looking on the backs. The short print at the bottom of the card has a numerical code at the end. Base cards end with 8491 while the variation short prints finish with 8969.
