For nearly a decade, Topps Chrome Football Rookie Autographs have been some of the most popular cards in the hobby. Frequently boasting on-card signatures and a lot of different types of Refractor parallels, they're the kinds of cards that are highly sought after on a broad scale yet still, usually, relatively affordable. The 2014 Topps Chrome Football Rookie Autographs arrive with a large checklist with the season's top first-year talent. However, a large amount of short prints are making things tough for both player collectors and those opening large quantities of product.

2014 Topps Chrome Football has 73 Rookie Autographs. This doesn't count parallels or other signed inserts like the 1985- and 1965-style cards. Cards also have eight different numbered Refractors, none of which are numbered higher than 150. With the set's large print run, it's making colored Rookie Autographed Refractors much harder to pull.
The most unique signature in the set belongs to Johnny Manziel. His base autographs (and the occasional Refractor) not only comes with a full signature (noticeable when you line up the other autographs and notice how many players are resorting to just initials) but a "Money Manziel" inscription as well.
The vast majority of 2014 Topps Chrome Football Rookie Autographs are signed on-card. Seven players have sticker autographs. This includes Henry Josey who has hard-signed versions as well. Of the sticker autographs, Jimmy Garoppolo is the biggest name.
Redemptions are even more sparse. As far as base autographs go, there might not be any outside of Refractors (and even those are limited). If there are any, it's Carlos Hyde and Tre Mason. At this point, neither have had any regular versions listed on eBay, though, so they might not exist.
2014 Topps Chrome Football Rookie Autograph Short Prints
Although Topps hasn't confirmed the existence of short prints, it looks like nearly a third of the Rookie Autographs are significantly tougher to pull. According to case breaker brentandbecca, who opened 24 cases and spoke with other breakers, there are 20 short prints:

Of these, not a single base autograph of either Carlos Hyde or Tre Mason were listed on eBay during the set's first week of release. Combined with a very limited number of Refractors, it could be that neither of the pair have regular autographs, just Refractors.
