Figure Out All the 2014 Topps Baseball Parallels and Know Where to Find Them
When Topps first started doing parallel sets for their flagship baseball set in 1992, there were just two -- Gold and Gold Winner. Flash forward to 2014 Topps Series 1 Baseball and that number has ballooned to 13. With a rise in recent years of retail exclusives, tracking all of these parallels down has become a little trickier. Unless you go direct to the secondary market, you need to know where to go or what types of packs to buy.
2014 Topps Series 1 Baseball hobby and jumbo packs have some of the rarest parallels. These include Black (#/63) and Printing Plates. Regular hobby packs are also the only place to find debuting Clear Stock parallels, which are numbered to 10. Done on acetate, these have been very well received by most of those fortunate enough to pull them.
Red-Hot Foil, Gold (#/2014), Camo (#/99), Pink (#/50) and Platinum (1/1) parallels can also be found in hobby and jumbo packs, although they're also available at retail.
Besides the Clear Stock cards, the biggest change with parallels in 2014 Topps Baseball can be found at retail. Walmart, Target and Toys 'R Us continue to have their own cards as they have the past few years. However, this year retail hanger boxes and rack packs are added to the exclusive mix, bringing yellow and green to the growing flagship rainbow.
Below is a full visual guide to all the 2014 Topps Series 1 Baseball parallels as where as an easy break down of where to find them.

Are there Parallel Cards for the Short Print Cards.
Example – For #14 Yoenis Cespedes, Oakland Athletics would there actually be 39 different cards (13 of each variation)
Ryan Cracknell | Feb 6, 2014 | Reply
Andrew Rupprecht » No. Variations just have the one version.

Hi Ryan, Love your site and reviews. I had a question for you on the 2014 Topps Baseball Series 2 Parallels – I recently bought a retail hanger box at Target and instead of Yellow Parallels I pulled two Orange Parallels. Are these only suppose to be with the Hobby set – did I pick a hot hanger box? Please let me know what you think. I appreciate your help. Thanks, Kyle O’Mara

I believe they changed things up for Series 2. Not sure why.

Ryan,
I have a #’d / 75 parallel version of card # 83, Jonathan Schoop. It’s a shimmering gold and I believe it’s from the power players program. Can you shed some light on this? Thanks!
