2014 Press Pass Racing is the first set of the new NASCAR season. Although hobby boxes still deliver two hits, Press Pass is upping the ante from last year's pair of memorabilia cards to one memorabilia card and one on-card autograph.
The 2014 Press Pass Racing base set is made up of 100 cards. Recapping the 2013 season, the base checklist has seven different subsets including Giving Back, Ground Crew, Hot Seat and Snapshots. It covers the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Cup circuits. Numbered Color Proof parallels are inserted three per box.
The product has several different signed components. They're led by the long-running Press Pass Signings. Aerodynamic Autographs are highlighted by a die-cut design. Certified Winners boast a signature and a piece of race-used tire. 2014 Signature Series cards also include an autographed memorabilia combination.
Burning Rubber, the original sports memorabilia insert, is back with pieces of race-used victory tires. They come with several numbered parallels. Burning Rubber Letterman Edition cards include jumbo tire pieces with a letter from the manufacturer. 3-Wide and 4-Wide come with multiple pieces of race-used memorabilia. Swatches come from gear worn by the racers and from race cards.
2014 Press Pass Racing also has several basic inserts: Cup Chase, Hall of Fame, Velocity, Zero Card and Replay. The inclusion of short prints makes building the Replay set more challenging.
