2014 Panini VIP Party Brings Some Sweet Exclusive Cards
Product Details
As if the promise of rubbing shoulders and shaking hands with the likes of Joe Namath, Kyrie Irving, Tom Glavine and more (including a brief appearance from Johnny Manziel) wasn't enough, the 2014 Panini VIP Party brought with it an exclusive set of cards.
Attendees of the event, which was held in conjunction with the 2014 National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland, received a box of special packs. Besides a multi-sport base set, packs also had randomly inserted autographs and memorabilia.
The 2014 Panini VIP Party set has 99 cards. It includes top stars and rookies from football, basketball and baseball. Gordie Howe is the lone hockey player. Base cards are believed to have a print run of 200 and are done in a chromium Prizm style. This makes them instantly recognizable compared to Panini's many other National exclusives.
The base set has four parallels that showcase Prizm's growing combinations of color and patterns: Blue Prizm (#/25), Gold Pulsar (#/10), Green Plaid (#/5) and Black Pulsar (1/1).
In addition to these, there are several low-numbered autographs and memorabilia cards. Many have a Cracked Ice finish, although there are also one-of-one autographs that resemble SuperFractors. Although Panini hasn't released a final checklist for these, it doesn't appear that any of the autographs and memorabilia cards have more than 25 copies each.
Rounding out the 2014 Panini VIP Party set are specially stamped cards from other company releases.
2014 Panini VIP Party cards come in gold packs. The more plentiful National Wrapper Redemption packs are silver, so they're easy to spot.
