It has been a while since collectors in North America have been able to chase a Panini Adrenalyn product, the company's collectible card game brand, without having to go through importers. While Adrenalyn sets have continued to come out, for a couple of years they have catered to the international market. And while 2014 Panini Adrenalyn XL World Cup Soccer is most definitely an international release, this time it includes the American and Canadian markets.
The 2014 Panini Adrenalyn XL World Cup Soccer set is large. The checklist has more than 400 cards. It covers players from all 32 countries participating in the tournament.
Although cards feature players and can be collected like regular sports cards, Adrenalyn XL is intended to be a game. Collectors build decks and take on others. It adds an interactive element. Panini tried the brand with basketball and football for North American audiences, but they failed to gain a massive audiences. Adrenalyn has continued overseas, though, and has several soccer products for various leagues.
