Over the year, The Simpsons has had a ton of celebrities stop by. And while there has been no shortage of toys, memorabilia and other merchandise for the show, most of it has focused on the first family and the recurring characters. The changes with NECA Simpsons 25 of the Greatest Guest Star Figures.
Available as both traditional action figures and mini figures, the year-long line is being released in several waves.
The first series include Tom Hanks, James Brown, Yao Ming, Hugh Hefner and Kid Rock. There's also a Coach Homer figure.
The second set has The Who, Britney Spears, Mark Hamill, Lucy Lawless and Tony Hawk. They're join by Maggie.
Wave 3 includes Stephen King, Leonard Nimoy, Bret "Hitman" Hart, Penn and Teller and R.E.M.
Wave 4 is mainly musicians, although there's an astronaut as well. "Weird" Al Yankovic, Aerosmith, Buzz Aldrin and Elvis Costello are the highlights.
Wave 5 is the smallest since Wave 1. It's highlighted by a figure of the show's creator, Matt Groening. Tom Petty and Stan Lee are among the others.
Basic action figures stand approximately five inches tall. This puts them in line with the comprehensive line of Simpsons action figures put out by Playmates several years prior.
Mini figures are about two inches. Made of plastic, they're available in several configurations. Individual waves have box sets with all the pieces. Two-packs pair up figures. Individual figures come in blind bag packaging so you don't know which one you're getting.
