2014 NECA Divergent trading cards follow a similar format to the card maker's other recent hobby offerings. Based on a potential blockbuster movie franchise that originated as a series of young adult novels, many will draw comparisons to both The Hunger Games and Twilight.
The 2014 NECA Divergent base set has approximately 80 cards (the checklist and final configuration is still being determined) that feature images from the film.
Unlike NECA's set for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Divergent does have insert cards. Hopefully you're not expecting any autographs or memorabilia cards, though. The only chase set is a nine-card puzzle.
Divergent is based on the novel by Veronica Roth. Set in a futuristic Chicago, which is divided up into five sections. Each has its own personality. When residents turn 15, they take an aptitude test that assigns them to the part of the city they're best suited for. Of course, things aren't that simple and there is much badness bubbling.
The film stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Miles Teller, Zoe Kravitz, Ashley Judd and more.
