When Despicable Me was released in 2010, it created a massive amount of memorable characters. Sure, there's Gru and the girls, but it was the Minions that really stole the show. This carried over to the sequel and will likely continue to be a focal point as the film turns into franchise mode. 2014 Funko Despicable Me Mystery Minis are further proof of the movie's lasting appeal, coming out in that typically quiet period between movie releases.
The blind box release has a total of 12 figures. All fall at a rate of 1:12 so there are no short prints or chase figures. Besides Gru, the central character in both movies, there are four different Minions, five other human characters and a stuffed unicorn.
As their name suggests, 2014 Funko Despicable Me Mystery Minis are small figures. As a result, they also don't have quite the detail as bigger toys. They come in sealed boxes so, if you're buying by the box or pack, you don't know which figure you're getting until it's opened. Even with no short prints, this adds a chase element to collecting them.
