2014-15 Panini Paramount Basketball Cards

I wouldn’t buy a box but the singles are nice, particularly the on-card penmanship ones.

Not going to rate this as I haven’t seen it. I only collect the Bullets/Wizards from current teams. There don’t seem to be any Wizards anywhere in this set. Well there is a buyback Wes Unseld Bullets but those cards are only 1 in 2 cases, that makes pulling one card from that insert set more like 1 in every 50 cases.

What other teams are missing?

The bad reviews seem to be coming from people who don’t understand the business side of collecting. In 5 boxes we’ve broken, we’ve gotten 3 buybacks, Wiggins, Parker autos and relics. Only 1 box was a quasi-bust. There is value here.

There is hardly anything to collect with
this product. A handful of parallels are
it for what I chase. No themed inserts?
Who came up with this product idea? It could have been better with some inserts.
With the Duflex design, it’s like a poor
mans Pinnacle.

What is really telling is that there are around 400+ of these cards for sale on
Ebay. Given the release date around the first of the month; if this was one
of Panini’s usual successes, there would
be thousands of cards for sale for
Paramount. I conclude from that, there is hardly anyone opening up this
product to sell it.

theres nothing special about these cards that warrant the high price, imo it was a fail from the start…There are some great cards in this but they are hard to find and most couldnt return the price paid for the box.
Maybe if there weren’t any dead boxes approx half each case, and there were guarenteed pulls like National Treasure products and less basecards and the improved the design it might work but then it would be National TREASURES

Initially I keep seeing Dufex as Dufus. But the design seems nice with a combination of Totally Certified with Prizm. The blending is nice and with a very low number to set it, I am pretty sure set builders are happy with the 50 cards. (25 superstars and 25 rookies).

Parallel are tough and one per case will make it a challenge for others who want to complete their rainbow.

Good: 60 veterans with on card autos (hopefully at least an all star or won a championship) for penmanship. Next day autographs is a plus especially if the rooks are wearing their draft day caps.

Bad: For 10 cards this is a little bit pricey. Especially with the selection of some veterans who are just worth $10. Hoping they eliminate nonsense players and the focus on players that mattered. Making the Dufex cards very expensive.

Value for money: low since you won’t get your ROI at all. It is a one shot thrill seeker or for high rollers who wants the entire case.
