2013 Topps Star Wars Galactic Files 2 Autographs focus primarily on the original trilogy. For most fans of the franchise, that's a good thing. The prequels do come into play on the checklist as does the recent Clone Wars animated series.
Key signers include Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine) and James Earl Jones (Darth Vader). Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) are among the other recognizable faces. The set does have one new signer who is not well known for his place in Star Wars but has become something of a Hollywood icon. John Ratzenberger rose to fame playing lovable postman Cliff Clavin on TV's Cheers. In more recent years, Ratzenberger has had a role in every Pixar feature film to date including Hamm from Toy Story.
Five dual autographs offer some huge combinations including Hamill with Fisher, and Jone with McDiarmid. However, the biggest of them all is likely the pairing of Han Solo and Chewbacca -- Harrison Ford and Peter Mayhew. Although the number of sets boasting Ford's autograph is on the rise, they're still very scarce.
Basic autographs are inserted 1:55 hobby packs. The set's original solicitation mentioned a total of 200 dual autographs.
As with nearly all Topps Star Wars autographs of the past decade, signatures are done on stickers. Not surprisingly, the design is in line with autographs from the first Galactic Files set released last year.
