User Rating:

2013 Funko Walking Dead Mystery Minis vinyl figures combine two of the hottest things on the collectibles market today: blind box figures and, well, The Walking Dead.

Giving a cartoonish spin to the television show, the first line focuses primarily on memorable zombies. The only human characters on the checklist are brothers Daryl and Merle.

The full 2013 Funko Walking Dead Mystery Minis lineup has 16 figures. This includes several variations. Variants come in two styles. Blood Spatter figures have an added layer of gore. Glow in the Dark variations are painted the same but have a glowing body.

Excluding variants, there are ten different characters, Daryl, Merle and eight different Walkers. The remainder of the checklist consists of six variation figures.

Standing about 2.5" high, each figure comes in a sealed box, much like a pack of cards. It's only after you open it that collectors know which one they're getting (unless you buy them on the secondary market). Some are more rare than others, which carries over into the values. The most common figures are inserted two per 24-box case. The range goes up to 1:144 boxes for both the Blood Spatter Daryl and Prison Guard Walker.

2013 Funko Walking Dead Mystery Minis definitely don't take a realistic approach. They're a form of caricature that includes big hands and feet and not much detail in the face.
