2013 Bowman Chrome Yasiel Puig Superfractor Autograph for Sale Again

2013 Bowman Chrome Yasiel Puig Superfractor Autograph for Sale Again

UPDATE (1/7/14): The 2013 Bowman Chrome Yasiel Puig Superfractor Autograph is up for grabs once again. After being pulled last month during a 2013 Super Box Rookies & Phenoms case break, the card has once again landed on eBay. The latest asking price: $34,999.99.

The fixed-price listing also has the option for best offer.

UPDATE (12/19/13): It was recently announced that the product supply was drying up and that two 20-case breaks were taking place for the Super Box Rookies & Phenoms product. Since the Puig rookie had still not emerged, the odds were good that one of these breaks would yield the card. This afternoon, news broke that the Yasiel Puig Superfractor had finally been pulled. The card was pulled via a redemption card as part of a live break on Blowout TV. Blowout revealed that the big winner was Adam from Canada. The full video can be seen here. If you can't stand the suspense, go directly to the four minute mark of the video.

2013 Bowman Chrome Yasiel Puig Superfractor Autograph for Sale Again 2Not long after the product released, a listing on eBay revealed that the biggest pull from 2013 Bowman Chrome had surfaced. Yasiel Puig's Prospect Autographs Superfractor card, numbered 1/1, was listed at a Buy It Now price of $25,000. Although the listing quickly ended with the card unsold, 13 offers were made and it has been revealed that the card was purchased by South Bay Baseball Cards for inclusion in their Super Box product line. Although the price paid is unknown, the card has now been graded a BGS 9.5, with a 10 for the autograph grade.

Arguably the best Yasiel Puig card to date, given the hype and value around Puig, this card is reminiscent of the craze for the Bowman Chrome Stephen Strasburg Superfractor from several years ago. Only time will tell how the value will hold, but with the Los Angeles Dodgers on a tear as they head into the playoffs, Puig-mania could push into overdrive.

The rare and valuable Yasiel Puig card will be the main chase card in the upcoming 2013 Super Box Rookies & Phenoms Baseball. This limited edition buyback product will center on top rookie cards, including Joe DiMaggio, Hank Aaron, Mike Trout, Manny Machado, Bryce Harper, and, of course, Yasiel Puig. There will also be championship team autographs from the 1963 Dodgers, 1960 Pirates and 1960s Yankees. These items will be certified by PSA or JSA. Hundreds of BGS 10 cards round out the product.

Boy this sure seems like a set up. People use to bitch about loaded boxes for Beckett, that sure seemed like a great commercial for this otherwise no name product.

I guess it’s better to just sell the boxes of Bowman Chrome I purchased.
