Exclusive 2012 Topps Five Star Club Cards Surface

Exclusive 2012 Topps Five Star Club Cards Surface

Late last year, Topps solicited collectors to apply for the Topps Five Star Club. It was designed to be a way to thank some of the company's biggest customers. Membership was extremely limited.

One of the perks of membership is a set of exclusive cards. The 2012 Topps Five Star Club checklist has ten players, five baseball and five football. As one might expect, it's limited to top names in both sports. Bryce Harper, Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck are among the highlights. Another notable inclusion is Mickey Mantle. This may turn out to be one of the final Topps Mickey Mantle cards for some time. He hasn't been included in any of the company's 2013 releases thus far.

2012 Topps Five Star Club cards are all numbered to 50 copies. The design mimics both the 2012 Topps Five Star Baseball base card designs. The eight rookie players have a blue background while legends Mantle and Willie Mays have a red background.

In addition to these exclusive cards, over the course of the year, Topps Five Star Club members are expected to receive special autographs, special access at the 2013 National and more.
