Ryan is a former member of The Cardboard Connection Writing Staff.   His collecting origins began with winter bike rides to the corner store, tossing a couple of quarters onto the counter and peddling home with a couple packs of O-Pee-Chee hockey in his pocket. Today, he continues to build sets, go after inserts with cool technologies, chase Montreal Expos and finish off his John Jaha master collection.

would love to pull a Paul Molitor! Molitor and Yount are my favorite players!

Chris Friedrich
Chris Friedrich

I would love the Harper/Strasburg card. I’m new back to collecting as the strike of ’94 ruined my love of the game. These two players are single-handedly (dual-handedly?) bringing the game back to the people and I thank them for it.

Bo Jackson would be my favorite, class act and an all-time great!

Dustin Smith
Dustin Smith

The harper / strasburg would be a awesome card to have right about now

Any autos in the set would be a dream to pull. B ut if I had to pick one I would go with Bryce Harper. I have been a fan of him since he was on the cover of Sports illustrated. He plays the game with so much passion and would be my dream pull, go Nationals and go upper deck!

Lee Smith
Lee Smith

I would love to pull a Frank Thomas auto. Even though there are no pictures on the cards, Thomas has one of the best sigs in the game. Oh, not to mention he has been my favorite player since he was drafted by the White Soxs.

Lloyd C
Lloyd C

Carlton Fisk, baby. My favorite player growing up as a kid in the Boston suburbs. I remember my dad letting me stay up to watch Game 6 of the 75′ World Series and Fisk waiving that homer fair. Incredible sports moment that’s burned into my psyche.

David V
David V

My favorite : TEX-1 Nolan Ryan

My first baseball card was his RC by a friend. It has been the beginning of a “love story” with Nolan cards!

Kevin McCaw
Kevin McCaw

I pick Albert Pujols not just because he is one of the greatest to ever play the game, but because of his HUGE heart. I saw him on 60 minutes with his charity for downs syndrome kids at the prom. My nephew has downs. I showed him the 60 minutes interview, and now Albert is his favorite player. When I see REAL people being so kind to those kids, it just gives me hope that celebrity’s really are down to earth and wonderful.

Jeremy Negus
Jeremy Negus

The Strasburg and Harper dual auto would be my choice :)

I love Harper and would enjoy a card of his.

Sandy Koufax would be the best card to pull.

Justin
Justin

Bo Jackson because he was one of those once in a life time athletes that we most likely will never get see again, especially in this day and age. He’s also one of my childhood heroes.

Bo Knows!

Paul Lewis
Paul Lewis

My favorite is Nolan Ryan I went to his HOF induction in 1999 with my son Brett Ryan

ryan q

I would love any Cleveland card, but especially Bob Feller. For a sports fan of a city that hasn’t had a championship in any sport since 1964 (Browns, which I wasn’t even alive for), and probably won’t have a championship any time soon, a Feller auto would be the equivalent. Plus, he is the greatest Indian of all time in my opinion.

Wendi Heckard
Wendi Heckard

Speaking as Phillies fan, I’d love to pull the Curt Schillling card. He was such a dominate pitcher during the struggling years of the Phillies winning the NLCS MVP in 93 and named 3x all-star. The rest of his career speaks volumes, 3x world series champs, 3 more all-star appearance and shared world series MVP!

Clint
Clint

The smoothest swing in all of baseball. Ken Griffey Jr. I remember watching him hit a walk off grand slam in Seattle to beat the Yankees as a kid.

Adam
Adam

I would definetely go with Ken Griffey Jr. Huge Seattle fan and have great memories of going to games in the old Kingdome!!!

Brian
Brian

Sandy Koufax without question! I have a Sandy Autograph on an index card but really need a real card with his sig for my collection!

chris ryker
chris ryker

For me is has to be Jeff Bagwell. Not many autos of his out there. Hometown hero, future HOF’er, great guy!

H.O. Lytle
H.O. Lytle

My favorite card would be Joe Carter because I live in Wichita where he went to college. He had such enthusiasm for the game. I’ll never forget when he hit that homerun in the World Series and he was jumping around the bases!

john upshaw
john upshaw

My fave to pull would be Derek Jeter;to me he s pure class and a symbol of what an athlete should be

The card I’d love to pull would be the
TB-20 Reid Brignac/Wade Davis/Matt Joyce/David Price

Being a rays fan having the best young gun talent would be awesome!!

Joe Lombardo
Joe Lombardo

Derek Jeter… he is baseball and he is the ultimate leader. Mr. Captain says it all about this winner on and off the field.

Chris
Chris

While there are lots of great names to choose from, my favorite autograph would be Rocky Colavito. I’ve been a lifelong Cleveland fan and avid Indians collector, but a Colavito autograph has always eluded me.

Alan J Rego
Alan J Rego

Would have to go with Carl Yaztrezemski. Only player to win the Triple Crown and a great leader for the Red Sox during the 67 season bringing the Sox from last place in 1966 to the World Series in 1967.

Connor
Connor

My favorite player is Ernie Banks. I never got to see him play but i met him one time at a Cubs game, one of the nicest guys ever, I wanted his autograph but neither of us had a pen. If i got one pack of these I have my shot. Thanks for the giveaway and good luck to all!

Jamie

WOW!!!! What a great compaction of Superstars!!!!! Anyone would be Lucky to have any of these Superstars from generations of the past and future. Great Job!!!!!!

serena
serena

I am torn between two: BAL-5 Vladimir Guerrero and TOR-7 Brett Lawrie. Vladdy was my childhood favorite. He represented what everyone seen as a great ballplayer. Would love seeing him digging pitches out of the dirt and put them over the fence. Lawrie reminds me of Vladdy- all that is great about pro sports. Two guys who go out and play their butts off everyday with a smile on their faces. Both are extremely competitive athletes who remember the fact that they are still playing a game and what an honor it is to do so and get paid for it.

Brent
Brent

As a cardinals fan who collects autos of every player I can get it would be really nice to get a Joe Torre auto without a hideous yankees logo on it :)

Joe Carter! Though I wasn’t alive to see his homerun, opening a pack with his autograph would bring give me the same emotions that Blue Jays fans in ’92 felt!!!!

Leo G
Leo G

I just started collecting baseball cards and I think that any of these great baseball stars would be a great pull. I am a Texas Rangers fan so maybe a cool A-ROD or Josh Hamilton auto would be sweet. Keep up the great work Upper Deck

Jason
Jason

There is only one card I would love to pull and its Joe Carter. The man won the World Series for Canada I don’t need to say anymore. When we traded for him and Alomar we had no doubt the World Series was coming to Canada. Go Jumping Joe…

Jim Miller
Jim Miller

Would love to get the Lou Brock card.

Chris
Chris

I would love to pull a Stan Musial or Ozzie Smith auto card. I am a Cardinal fan so they would be a great addition to my collection. Ozzie Smith would be a great one since I grew up watching him when I was younger and I have yet to get lucky enough to pull one of his.

Walter
Walter

Derek Jeter would be the ultimate pull for me. I am a huge Yankees fan and he is my favorite player. I’d love to have an auto of him in my collection.

Bo Jackson is by far my fav!! I would give the biggest War Eagle ever if I pulled a Vincent “Bo” Jackson auto!

Jim

LA-4 Sandy Koufax would have to be the one for me. Mom and dad through out all my cards from my childhood days. During our move to Arizona in 1971.

Pat
Pat

I would love to have a Chipper Jones card. I grew up watching him and the Braves on TBS when they were winning the Division and had awesome pitching that won them a World Series.

Paul Burchuk
Paul Burchuk

I would love to have the (WAS-11 Bryce Harper/Stephen Strasburg) card. These are 2 of the most exciting young superstars in the game today. I can see them winning MVP and Cy Young Award in the same season, wouldn’t that be AWESOME!!!

brandon bernath
brandon bernath

I would like any and all related to the Chicago Cubs

Justin G.
Justin G.

My favorite pull would be an autograph from Bob Feller! Feller epitomizes what it means to be a true Cleveland Indian and he is a legend of the game!

i would have to say Sandy Koufax. I collect baseball cards back in the 60’s and to pull Sandy Koufax was a big deal. To once again have that same chance would be exceptional.

Michael Mc
Michael Mc

It’s to tough to choose just one so I’ll choose only three: Nolan Ryan, Don Mattingly, and Ryne Sandberg. I’m from Texas and Nolan is an icon while I patterned my game, on and off the field, after Don Mattingly and Ryne Sandberg. All three are consummate professionals and great idols for anyone to pattern themselves after.

Eric Moore
Eric Moore

Nolan Ryan would be the one I would want! He has been my favorite player since I started watching baseball and I want to share my love for baseball and card collecting with my son!

Adam O.
Adam O.

The Harper/Strasburg dual as they are the Jeter/Pettitte combo of this generation.

Joseph S
Joseph S

For future value, I would have to go with the Harper/Strasburg Combo.

For greatest players – I would have to with Koufax.

For personal – I would have to go with Bo Jackson – i grew up with the Bo Knows and he was just awesome.

Steve Higgs
Steve Higgs

BAL-17 Xavier Avery/Brian Matusz/Chris Tillman/Matt Wieters. Would love this card as I have been an O’s fan since 1969 & bleed orange. I collect everything Orioles & never will get rid of any of it. My stuff will be handed down to my family.

Matthew

Ken griffey jr that’s all enough said

Mike D

My favorite card to pull would be ‘PIT-14 Pedro Alvarez/Gerrit Cole/Jameson Taillon’. Being a young Buccos fan, I have never seen them play in a playoff game ever. With this breakout year and the players on the card being a big part of the future, hopefully I will finally get to see a Jolly Roger raised in the playoffs because of these young guns!

Joseph Chang
Joseph Chang

Derek Jeter would be a great pull for me. Ever since my mom and dad cane to north America , Derek Jeter had become their favorite player. If I pulled his auto I would give the card to my parents.

Mike P

Seeing Yastrzemski right at the top of the list is great – he’s my all-time favorite.Too often, sets are flooded with Mantle, Ruth, DiMaggio… but pulling a Yaz sig would be my ideal!

Ryan Schmidt

The Mike Schmidt Card Must Be Sick!!!!Winner Winner!

Cyrus

Bo Jackson – is one that I’d like to pull, as a child of the early ninety’s Bo did it all, play football and baseball. Bo Knows…

Daniel R

My favorite card to pull would be a Nolan Ryan. His ’90 UD card was the first single I ever purchased and is what got me into my passion for collecting that has spanned over 20 years.

Dan Larocque
Dan Larocque

TEX-1 Nolan Ryan would be the ultimate pull in my opinion. The ageless wonder is an inspiration to all ball players on and off the field
