2012 Rittenhouse Game of Thrones Autographs Guide
After nabbing more than four million viewers for the season two finale (massive by cable TV standards), it's safe to say that HBO's Game of Thrones is hot. With a massive checklist that includes almost every major character in the epic series, the 2012 Rittenhouse Game of Thrones Autographs are likely to bring a lot of new collectors into the hobby.
In total, the 2012 Rittenhouse Game of Thrones Autographs checklist has 51 cards. Two of them (Sean Bean and Peter Dinklage) are case incentives. Although Rittenhouse did say that some of these cards would be available in boxes, they are intended to encourage and reward bulk sales. Dealers were given one Sean Bean autograph for every three cases. Dinklage is much more limited as a six-case incentive.
The cards have two designs: bordered and full-bleed. The bordered cards can be noted by the black bars at the top of the card and in the nameplate.
Most, but not all, of the signers have autographs on both designs. As far as individual cards go, all pack inserted cards (not incentives) are classified as "Limited" by Rittenhouse. This means each has between 300 and 500 copies. This means that the handful of actors who only have one autograph card have about half as many total signatures in the product.
Besides the Peter Dinklage and Sean Bean autographs, the cards to watch are Emilia Clarke, Michelle Fairley, Kit Harington and Lena Headey. All four have just one autograph card and are major characters in the show. Their signatures were already reaching three figures during pre-sales.
Every box of 2012 Rittenhouse Game of Thrones Season One promises two autographs. With perfect collation, it would take more than two 12-box cases to build a set.
Below is a gallery of all 51 cards in the set listed alphabetically by last name. For those actors with two autograph cards, the bordered version is pictured first.
