User Rating:

2012 Rittenhouse Falling Skies Season 1 is a curious set. Although the show is popular by cable standards, it's still somewhat surprising that it made the leap to trading cards. Using a limited print run and premium pack format, Rittenhouse is able to release a set that's loaded and should have some appeal to those who might not be familiar with the show.

Like other Rittenhouse sets using the premium pack format, the idea is to squeeze a box's worth of hits into one pack. Each comes with an autograph, two costume cards, one insert and three base cards. The highlight of the 2012 Rittenhouse Falling Skies Season 1 Autograph checklist include Noah Wyle, who was once one of TV's biggest stars at the height of E.R.'s popularity. Other signers for the set include Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation), Will Patton (Remember the Titans) and Sarah Carter (The Vow, Undeclared).

Relic costume cards come serial numbered. Like the autographs, the checklist encompasses the show's top stars. 2nd Mass inserts, which fall one per pack, are also serial numbered.

The 2012 Rittenhouse Falling Skies Season One base set uses 30 cards to recap the first ten episodes. For those not familiar with the show, it looks at the world following an alien invasion. It is one of the most popular science fictions shows on television. The first and last episodes of its debut season both approached six million viewers.

The set also has a binder, which is sold separately. It comes with an exclusive promo card.
