2012 Panini Crown Royale Football Rookie Silhouette Autographs Guide

One of the greatest challenges card makers face is coming up with designs that are distinct from one another and deliver what collectors are looking for. The 2012 Panini Crown Royale Football Rookie Silhouette cards certainly meet this criteria. While the combination of a jersey swatch and autograph is hardly anything new, the presentation is what makes these stand out.

Rookie Silhouettes have a layered look to them. A die-cut player image is one on the side. The signature is on the bottom of the card in a white box. They use a mix of hard signatures and stickers. But the real centerpiece is the jumbo player-worn jersey swatch in the middle of the card. Placed underneath the player image, they add a simple but attractive dynamic to the design. Many are further enhanced by multi-color patches.

Numbered as a part of the regular set, they are official rookie cards. Inserted one per 2012 Panini Crown Royale hobby box, Rookie Silhouette cards are numbered to either 249 or 349. They also have five levels of autographed parallels numbered as low as 5. Retail packs have non-autographed Rookie Silhouette cards numbered to 299. These also have different photos.

The biggest drawback of the 2012 Panini Crown Royale Football Rookie Silhouettes is that nearly half of them are redemptions. Of the 35 cards in the subset, 17 require a wait -- at least for the base versions. A couple of cards have parallel versions live in packs.

Here's a complete gallery of all the Rookie Silhouette cards found in 2012 Panini Crown Royale packs. Where possible, we have also included images of redemption subjects with some parallels in packs.
