2012 Panini Contenders Football Target Retail Packs Get Exclusive Inserts
Every week during the 2012 NFL regular season, Panini and Pepsi partnered to acknowledge the league's best rookies. In doing so, Panini created a set of virtual cards that showcased its various 2012 football card brands. They're not just for the computer screen anymore. 2012 Pepsi Max NFL Rookie of the Week inserts have found their way into 2012 Panini Contenders Football retail packs sold at Target.
The 17-card set is led by Robert Griffin III, who led rookie voting in seven of the 17 weeks. He's followed by teammate Alfred Morris and Andrew Luck, who both appear on three cards in the set.
Panini has also produced five specially stamped Red Prizm Die-Cuts, one for each of the 2012 Pepsi Max Rookie of the Year Finalists. These cards are limited to 35 copies or less.
Here's a checklist including which set's design the card is inspired by:

To Ryan,
Since my last email to you on 2/27/13, I’ve finally completed my very first complete set of football cards. I realized it is only 17 cards, but still a trying and fun experience. I purchased the majority of my ROTW cards via eBay! The final cost for me came out to $111.36 this includes shipping & handling. My question to you is this; “Through your experience, are sets similar to this unique set tend to rise in value”? I am looking into bidding on a 2012 Panini Black Friday Thanksgiving card set of a total complete set of 6 cards. It is listed at $6.99 and shipping is $2.50. What are your thoughts on this subject.

Toshi » Prices really vary from set to set. I always pay what I’m comfortable and try not to worry about it. If it comes out less than I’m willing to pay, great. If it goes to high, I wait. Prices will always fluctuate, but probably not a ton unless they’re rookies or something that really gets hot.
