2012 Panini Contenders Football Hot List

2012 Panini Contenders Football Hot List

Much of the attention in 2012 Panini Contenders Football has been placed on the Rookie Ticket Autographs. Whether it's those featuring players from the Rookie Premiere, variations and a large list of short prints, there's a lot going on with these autographed rookie cards. And then there's the story of the Andrew Luck Championship Ticket parallel that has emerged as the card of the 2012 football card season so far (if the sale goes through).

With close to 150 rookie cards, without taking variations into account, putting together a full set will be a challenge. With less than 100 copies of several cards, it adds another layer to the challenge.

Also proving popular with collectors in 2012 Panini Contenders Football are several levels of parallels. Numbered to 99, Playoff Ticket cards have a foil front. 20th Anniversary, appropriately numbered to 20, use Panini's Cracked Ice look. Finally, Championship Tickets are one-of-one rarities that are taking on a life of their own. The crop of key rookies is deep this year. With many of the key players having hard-signed autographs, it has made those particular cards that much more intriguing.

Collectors have noted that on-card autographs aren't as common as the two-per-box that was originally advertised, which is disappointing. However, instead of five signatures, hobby boxes should have six.

Here's a real-time look at the hottest 2012 Panini Contenders Football cards currently listed on eBay. It's compiled of the most watched single cards and will update itself as listings and and new cards are added.

i don’t get why this card is more valuable then the other 1/1 of auto rookies, its not like this product is expensive like exquisite. the topps 1/1 superfractor with a multi color/auto patch i think is much nicer.
