Ultimate Guide to 2011-12 Upper Deck The Cup Auto Rookie Patch Cards

Ultimate Guide to 2011-12 Upper Deck The Cup Auto Rookie Patch Cards

Since the set's debut in 2005-06, The Cup Auto Rookie Patch have consistently been the most valuable rookie cards in hockey. The 2011-12 Upper Deck The Cup Auto Rookie Patch checklist has a total of 72 cards. All but six are numbered to 249. The remaining cards, which include most of the set's biggest names, are limited to 99 copies each.

The cards are vertically designed and combine the most desirable elements in the hobby: rookies, low numbering, on-card autographs and patches. Although some of the swatches are plain, many come with wild designs that should command a premium.

The biggest drawback of the 2011-12 Upper Deck The Cup Rookie Patch cards are the number of redemptions. Racing to get the set out before the NHL lockout, 24 of the 72 cards weren't available when the set was packaged. Among those available via redemption are Galbriel Landeskog, Cody Hodgson and Adam Larsson.

The cards have several parallels. Gold cards are numbered to the player's jersey number. There are also Black versions that come with tags and Printing Plates. Rookie Gold Spectrum cards (#/25) have the same checklist but do not have autographs or patch swatches.

Auto Rookie Patch cards fall one per single-pack box of 2011-12 Upper Deck The Cup.

Today, he continues to build sets, go after inserts with cool technologies, chase Montreal Expos and finish off his John Jaha master collection.

@Dave: those cards were sent to the respective players for signing months in advance of product release. The non-auto/memorabilia parallels feature updated photography.

Sucks that with all this time, upper deck couldn’t get Kassian in Vancouver jersey and Hodgson in a Sabres jersey. Total laziness by UD.
