All You Need to Know About 2011-12 Fleer Retro Precious Metal Gems
2011-12 Fleer Retro Precious Metal Gems sees the return of one of the hobby's most popular parallels. They don't need autographs or ridiculous patches. Just the name and their brightly colored backgrounds are enough to send buyers into a frenzy.
The cards debuted in 1997-98 Metal Universe Basketball. Already a busy set, the cards cast a bright background behind the player. The cards are loud and instantly recognizable. 1997-98 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems came in three levels. With a print run of 90, Red were the most common. Championship, which have a circular background, are limited to 50. Emerald cards have just ten copies.

The popularity and distinct look even carried over to similarly styled parallels in 2010-11 Panini Totally Certified Basketball. After a modest release, the set took off as collectors started chasing Totally Green cards.
