1940-1949 Hockey Cards

Hockey cards during the 1940s suffered a period of regression. While O-Pee-Chee emerged as good option for collectors in the 1930s, they would only make 1940-41 O-Pee-Chee before a nearly 30 year hiatus. Several small brands would be the only option for collectors and the industry suffered. Card values for 1940s hockey cards are not strong.

There are only a few popular hockey rookie cards from the 1940s. Milt Schmidt and Max Bentley are the top options.
