If you eat it, play with it or use it, Topps will make fun of it. 2013 Topps Wacky Packages All-New Series 11 continues with the decades-old tradition at poking fun of consumer goods and services. Available in both traditional hobby boxes and insert-heavy Collector Edition boxes, the brand continues to evolve with some new wrinkles and twists.
A big change for 2013 Topps Wacky Packages All-New Series 11 is the base set. Like other recent sets, there are still 55 designs. Each card has two different backs, making a complete set 110 cards. This makes the full base set 110 cards. They parody a wide variety of items, including movies, video games, food and toys.
2013 Topps Wacky Packages All-New Series 11 base cards have several parallels: Blue (one per standard pack), Silver (1:3 standard packs), Cloth and Gold. Collector Edition packs also have more exclusive parallels. Both Black Canvas and Red Metallic parallels fall one per insert-focused pack. There are also Die-Cut (two per Collector Edition box), Ludlow Black (one per Collector Edition box), Ludlow Red (one per Collector Edition case) and Printing Plates to be found.
The release also has a pair of basic inserts that could be base cards if not for the separate numbering. Coming Distractions and Rude Food combine to fall one per pack. Each set has nine cards.
Standard hobby boxes are the only place to find Magnets (1:12 packs) and Coloring Cards (1:6 packs).
2013 Topps Wacky Packages All-New Series 11 Collector Edition boxes are the place for guaranteed hits. Each box has either a Sketch Card, Shaped Sketch Card, Printing Plate, Artist Autograph, Classic Comedian Autograph, Buyback or Patch Relic. Sketch cards can be found in regular packs as well but they're much tougher to find. Patch Relics have been used regularly in sports products for several years. These cards have a small embroidered patch of a classic Wacky Packages gag embedded in them.
Other Collector Edition exclusives include Pencil Drawing Cards (one per box), Bonus Stickers (one per box) and Lost Wackys (one per case). Each box also as a Wacky Oversized Billboard as a box loader.
