Sorting Out the 2013 Topps Football Retail Exclusives

Retail exclusives are nothing new to sports cards. In fact, it's common in all sorts of areas. From clothes to toys to food, certain stores get exclusive access to certain items. In the case of 2013 Topps Football, there are several retail-only offerings. If you're planning to sample them all, be prepared to hop around to different stores and buy several types of packs and boxes.

None of these exclusives are likely to be big-time hits. Rather, they simply add another layer to collect. Team and player collectors will likely be among the biggest chasers when it comes to these retail cards. For those looking for the bigger hits, hobby and jumbo boxes are definitely the way to go.

This guide has details on all the 2013 Topps Football retail exclusives including where to find them. We've also added detailed checklists. You can easily navigate between sets by using the tabs above.

2013 Topps Football Commemorative Ribbon Patch Cards

Manufactured patch cards have been a go-to exclusive for Topps blaster boxes for several years now. The Commemorative Ribbon Patch cards carry on the tradition with a big checklist that's made even bigger thanks to variations.

The cards have a ribbon patch on one side with a team logo in the middle. The basic checklist has 63 cards. Packaged one per blaster box, that's a big set in its own right. However, each card has both a BCA Pink ribbon and a Military Camo ribbon. On top of that, there are Pink and Camo parallels that have an NFL Shield instead of the team logo. These are numbered to 99 copies each. For player collectors, that's four versions of each card.

Every ten-pack blaster box comes with one Commemorative Ribbon Patch. These are packaged on their own, kind of like an eleventh pack.

2013 Topps Football 1969 Rookies

Like last year, there are exclusive rookie inserts available at both Target and Walmart. While they look slightly different, numerically they combine to form one larger set. Inspired by the 1969 Topps Football design, 15 rookies have two cards each in the master set. Odd numbers are blue-bordered cards found at Walmart while even-numbered cards have red borders and are found at Target. Put them all together and you have a 30-card set.

But that's not all. The entire 30-card set also has a green-bordered version. These are found only in specially marked 72-card retail hanger boxes. A headline across the top of the box notes the possibility of green-bordered cards. It appears as though they are one per box.
