2013 Onyx Authenticated Platinum Prospects Series 1 combines up-and-coming stars, autographs and technology. Every pack includes one autograph, six total per box. But what's unique about Onyx's sophomore card release is the inclusion of a QR code on the back of the card that unlocks even more content.
Licensed by the MLBPA, all 2013 Onyx Authenticated Platinum Prospects Series 1 autographs are numbered. The checklist includes 2012 first round picks Kyle Zimmer and Lewis Brinson. Rare cards come signed with personal inscriptions and college notations. The set also has a handful of autographed memorabilia cards featured game-used gear. All are signed on-card.
Besides the traditional vital stats and notes, card backs also come with a small QR code. These are small boxes you can scan with a smartphone or other device. Once scanned, collectors unlock additional online player content and Onyx Authenticated info.
