Surprises are a part of the hobby, good and bad. For Allen & Ginter, surprises are part of the charm. While a final checklist for 2012 Topps Allen & Ginter was out in time for release, there were some intentional exclusions. This let collectors find out about them on their own. Among the unexpected additions in 2012 Topps Allen & Ginter are a pair of mini card sets.
Fashionable Ladies and Guys in Hats both document clothing trends through the years. Each set has ten cards. Inserted one per case, they are a challenge for collectors, but certainly not impossible. Prices are also reasonable given their rarity. Early on, singles for both sets are generally selling in the $10 range. Fresh out of the gate they were higher but now they're starting to settle. They may not make sellers rich, but they're a nice added-value inclusion, especially when compared with a common mini card.
